Rogan, who hosts the most popular podcast on Spotify, was not spared from Jeselnik's biting humor. "Guys, do not get me wrong, I like Joe, Joe's my friend, Joe's a good guy," Jeselnik quipped during his Netflix standup show. "But if you listen to his podcast, you're a f***** loser."
According to Newsweek, Jeselnik used his "crazy conspiracy theorist" brother-in-law as a case study of Rogan's "target demographic," characterizing him as someone who "doesn't think four hours is long enough" for a podcast episode. A video of Jeselnik's remarks was shared on X, formerly Twitter, by Columbia University professor Marlow Stone, where it quickly went viral, amassing nearly eight million views at the time of reporting.

Jeselnik, who was previously a writer on and has spoken about how some of his jokes were rejected on the show for being too dark, recently discussed Rogan's influence on his own podcast. He pondered whether a "liberal Joe Rogan" would work, suggesting that Rogan's appeal lies in his alignment with conservative values and interests such as conspiracy theories and mixed martial arts.

"Conservatives have what works for them and a lot of that is conspiracy theory and 'We're ultra-masculine.' Joe Rogan doesn't work without MMA. It used to be, like, he was the weed guy — now, he's the weed guy and the MMA guy, and he's perfectly suited to this role of the conservative Joe Rogan," Jeselnik said in an interview with Cracked. He further dismissed the idea of a liberal equivalent to Rogan, stating, "A liberal Joe Rogan is just a p****."
