In a shocking revelation, Pete Hegseth, President-elect Donald Trump's nominee for the position of Secretary of Defense, disclosed that he and his family were the targets of a bomb threat.

Hegseth, in a public statement, detailed the chilling moment when law enforcement officials arrived at his residence early Wednesday morning to inform him and his wife about the credible threat. The threat was specifically a potential pipe bomb aimed at his family.

According to The Post Millennial, Hegseth narrated the incident, saying, "This morning, a police officer arrived at our home—where our seven children were still sleeping. The officer notified my wife and I that they had received a credible pipe bomb threat targeting me and my family. We are all safe and the threat has been cleared. We want to thank law enforcement for their professionalism and bravery." Hegseth, demonstrating his resilience, added, "I will not be bullied or intimidated. Never. President Trump has called on me to serve—and that is what I intend to do."

The threat against Hegseth is not an isolated incident. Other nominees for Trump's cabinet have also faced threats. Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, nominated for the role of US ambassador to the United Nations, and Howard Lutnick, the nominee for Commerce Secretary, have also been threatened. Lee Zeldin, Trump's choice to head the Environmental Protection Agency, confirmed that his home was also threatened with a bomb and a pro-Palestinian-themed message.

A spokesperson for Trump's transition team confirmed that several appointees had been threatened but did not disclose the exact number of individuals targeted. The FBI has also confirmed its involvement in the ongoing investigation into these threats.

While authorities are yet to confirm the credibility of the pipe bomb threat against Hegseth in terms of actual explosives, it is believed that a law enforcement bomb squad was deployed to his residence following the threat.

These threats have emerged amidst President-elect Trump's announcement of high-profile cabinet picks during his transition. Despite these unsettling incidents, Trump's transition process appears to be well-received by the public. A CBS/YouGov poll conducted last week revealed that 59 percent of Americans approve of Trump's handling of the transition, indicating a strong public support for the incoming administration.
