As reported by Gateway Pundit, Sunny Hostin, one of the show's co-hosts, was compelled to read legal notes twice this week after making unfounded allegations against former Trump cabinet nominees, Matt Gaetz and Pete Hegseth.
According to Gateway Pundit, Gaetz, a former representative from Florida, has been plagued by groundless sex trafficking allegations for years. Hegseth, on the other hand, has been accused of sexual assault, again without any supporting evidence. Despite the lack of substantiation, the co-hosts of "The View" decided to double down on their accusations, seemingly under the impression that their viewers and ABC superiors would not hold them accountable.

However, their calculations were off the mark. An evidently irate Hostin announced she had two legal notes to share, both pertaining to Gaetz and Hegseth. She stated that Gaetz has consistently denied any wrongdoing in relation to the sex trafficking allegations. As for Hegseth, his lawyer stated that he paid a woman in 2023 to avert a baseless lawsuit.

"I have a legal note. Matt Gaetz has long denied allegations and has not been charged with any crime. Also, another legal note: Pete Hegseth says he paid the woman in 2023 to head off the threat of a baseless lawsuit," Hostin said. "He has denied any wrongdoing."

Her co-host, Behar, responded with laughter, remarking, "That’s interesting. Pay off the, uh, witness."
The co-hosts of "The View" could avoid the need to read legal notes if they refrained from spreading falsehoods to the public. Earlier this week, Hostin was compelled to read a legal note on air after attempting to link Gaetz to the Department of Justice's old, recycled allegations of sex trafficking.

In addition, she repeated her unfounded claims against Gaetz and also defamed Hegseth, President Trump’s nominee for Defense Secretary, with leaks about a years-old sexual assault allegation that had already been investigated by the police.
The only way to put an end to these baseless accusations might be a class-action lawsuit against the co-hosts of "The View" and ABC. A reassessment of the network’s broadcasting license could also be a prudent course of action.
