In a surprising turn of events, several Democrats in Congress, who once compared President-elect Donald Trump to Hitler, have expressed their readiness to collaborate with him on a range of pivotal issues.

This unexpected shift in stance comes despite their previous vehement criticisms of Trump.

According to The New York Post, Bronx Rep. Ritchie Torres, who once labeled Trump as "sinful," "radioactive," and a "criminal suspect," is now open to bipartisan cooperation. Torres stated, “China, Israel, and emerging technologies are all possible candidates for bipartisan cooperation and compromise. There should be a bipartisan commitment to ensuring American competitiveness in emerging technologies like semiconductors, AI, quantum computing and biotech.”

Similarly, Long Island Rep. Tom Suozzi, who once suggested using the "second amendment" as a form of protest against Trump, is now looking forward to working with the President-elect. Suozzi is particularly interested in Trump's campaign promise to eliminate the federal cap on state and local tax deductions. “I will take the president at his word that he wants to restore SALT (State and Local Tax Deduction) that he and the Republicans capped in 2017. I will work hard to hold him to his promise to do that,” Suozzi stated.

Suozzi also expressed his readiness to collaborate with Trump on border security. He said, “I’m prepared to work with the president-elect and the Republicans to secure the border, fix the broken asylum systems and finally deal in a humane way with those immigrants who have been here for decades, like the Dreamers, Temporary Protected Status recipients, farmworkers and others.”

Incoming Westchester Democratic Rep. George Latimer and Rep. Dan Goldman, who represents some of Brooklyn's most Marxist voters, have also shown willingness to work with Trump on issues such as restoring SALT and achieving energy independence.

Even Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, a far-left figure, has extended an olive branch to Trump on the issue of capping credit card interest rates. Sanders stated, “I look forward to working with the Trump Administration on fulfilling his promise to cap credit card interest rates at 10%. We cannot continue to allow big banks to make record profits by ripping off Americans by charging them 25 to 30% interest rates. That is usury.”

Despite the GOP's control of Congress and Trump's electoral mandate, bipartisanship will be crucial to pass legislation in the Senate, where Democrats can use the filibuster to enforce a 60-vote threshold. Trump has previously called for Senate Republicans to eliminate the filibuster, a move that former Leader Mitch McConnell always resisted. However, the GOP's new Senate boss, South Dakota Sen. John Thune, has also promised to keep the filibuster in place.

This unexpected willingness for bipartisan cooperation from Democrats who were once staunch critics of Trump signals a potential shift in the political landscape. It remains to be seen how these collaborations will shape the future of American politics and policy-making.
