Both Healey and Wu have publicly expressed their opposition to President-elect Donald Trump's pledge to initiate mass deportations of illegal immigrants upon his return to the Oval Office in January.
According to Fox News, Healey has recently affirmed that her state police will "absolutely not" collaborate with the anticipated mass deportation effort by the incoming Trump administration. She has also declared her intention to use "every tool in the toolbox" to "protect" residents in the Democratic-leaning state. Similarly, Wu has expressed her city's refusal to cooperate with the impending mass deportation operation, despite the release of numerous illegal immigrants with criminal charges back onto the streets.
Despite these public declarations, ICE announced the arrests of two illegal immigrants charged with child rape in Massachusetts and a third individual convicted of the same crime in Brazil, who had fled to the U.S. and evaded capture after being released at the U.S. border in 2022.
MassGOP Chair Amy Carnevale responded to these developments with a news release on Thursday, in which she described the positions taken by Healey and Wu as "appalling and disgusting". She accused them of prioritizing the appeasement of the most radical elements of their political base over the safety of residents. "Parents across the Commonwealth are horrified that individuals charged with such serious crimes are allowed to roam free because local authorities refuse to work with ICE to remove these criminals from our streets," Carnevale said.

Carnevale further argued that these incidents are becoming increasingly frequent and that the state's top leaders are complicit in the ensuing chaos by refusing to cooperate with ICE. She urged Democrats to set politics aside and collaborate with federal authorities to put an end to this alarming trend in Massachusetts.
GAVIN NEWSOM IS UP AGAINST A VERY BLOODY FIGHT!
Requests for comments from Healey’s and Wu’s offices by Fox News Digital went unanswered.
The three suspects arrested by ICE were identified as 21-year-old Mynor Stiven De Paz-Munoz of Guatemala, 42-year-old Billy Erney Buitrago-Bustos of Colombia, and 41-year-old Alexandre Romao De Oliveira of Brazil. De Paz-Munoz entered the U.S. in 2020 and was later arrested for child rape and indecent assault in Massachusetts. Despite ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Boston office lodging a detainer with the police department, De Paz-Munoz was released on bail. He has since been taken into custody.
Buitrago-Bustos entered the U.S. in 2016 but failed to leave under the terms of his visa. After his arrest in 2023, ERO Boston lodged an immigration arrest with the Great Barrington Police Department. He was held without bail and later released into the custody of ERO Boston after posting bail.
THIS BLUE CITY WANTS TO HELP TRUMP WITH MASS DEPORTATIONS
Romao De Oliveira, a foreign fugitive convicted of child rape in Brazil, fled Brazil before he could serve his sentence. He entered the U.S. in 2022 without admission by an immigration official and was released from custody after being served a notice to appear before a DOJ immigration review judge.
EEK! ASSESSMENTS ROLL IN FOR KJP—AND MAN, SOME ARE BRUTAL!
MassGOP spokesperson Logan Trupiano revealed that State Senate Minority Leader Bruce Tarr and House Minority Leader Brad Jones have proposed legislation to close loopholes created by a 2017 Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court Decision. This decision barred state courts from cooperating with ICE detainers, thereby enabling the release of illegal immigrants accused of crimes on bail rather than honoring federal immigration detainers.
REMEMBER THE FBI AGENT WHO SAID NEW ORLEANS ATTACK WAS "NOT A TERRORIST MISTAKE'?
Trupiano urged the Democratic supermajority in the legislature to prioritize public safety and pass this crucial legislation. He stated, "Filed a month ago, this critical legislation addresses the public safety risks stemming from the decision."

The issue of immigration extends beyond Massachusetts. On Wednesday, House Republicans questioned Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra about the U.S. losing track of thousands of unaccounted migrant children. He was also queried about the alleged mishandling of the vetting process that reportedly allowed some minors to be sent to gang members and even a strip club.
