In a recent development, Georgia Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has expressed her support for the prohibition of biological men from women's spaces in all facilities funded by taxpayers.

This comes in the wake of South Carolina Republican Representative Nancy Mace's push for a resolution that would prevent House members and others from using single-sex spaces in the Capitol or House office buildings that do not correspond with their biological sex.

According to Fox News, the resolution stipulates, "A Member, Delegate, Resident Commissioner, officer, or employee of the House may not use a single-sex facility (including a restroom, changing room, or locker room) in the Capitol or House Office Buildings, other than those corresponding to the biological sex of such individual." The enforcement of this rule falls under the purview of the House sergeant-at-arms.

This issue has come to the forefront with the election of Delaware state Senator Sarah McBride, a Democrat who identifies as transgender, to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2024. Mace has been vocal about her stance, stating, "McBride, a biological male, does not get a say in women's private spaces."

McBride, who is set to become the first openly transgender member of Congress, has responded to these comments with a call for respect and understanding. "Every day Americans go to work with people who have life journeys different than their own and engage with them respectfully, I hope members of Congress can muster that same kindness," McBride said. She further criticized the move as a diversionary tactic by far-right extremists, stating, "This is a blatant attempt from far right-wing extremists to distract from the fact that they have no real solutions to what Americans are facing. We should be focused on bringing down the cost of housing, health care, and child care, not manufacturing culture wars."

Greene, however, remained firm in her stance. In a video, she referred to McBride as a biological male, suggesting that he should use the men's room or the bathroom in his office. Greene further indicated her support for a resolution that would extend the ban to all taxpayer-funded facilities. "I support banning men from women’s restrooms in the Capitol, but that isn’t enough," Greene said. "Men should be banned from women’s restrooms in every federal building paid for by taxpayers."

As the debate continues, it remains to be seen how this issue will be resolved and what impact it will have on the broader discussion surrounding transgender rights and individual freedoms. Fox News Digital has reached out to McBride for further comment.
