In the wake of Donald Trump's unexpected victory, mainstream media outlets are being forced to reconsider their strategy of disregarding all principles to ensure Democratic victories, according to an editorial The New York Post.

ABC News, which has been accused of attempting to manipulate the presidential debate it hosted by fact-checking Trump but not Kamala Harris, is reportedly in a state of panic following the events of November 5.

The network's top executives are reportedly seeking to incorporate more conservative voices into their programming, with a primary focus on balancing the liberal viewpoints expressed by hosts on its popular daytime show, "The View." Recent controversial comments by hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin have included Goldberg's accusation that grocery store owners, whom she referred to as "pigs," are responsible for inflation, and Hostin's suggestion that people should sever ties with loved ones who voted for Trump, as well as her blaming "uneducated white women" for Trump's victory.

While the show does feature conservative voices such as Alyssah Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro, they are consistently anti-Trump, according to the editorial. Therefore, the network's efforts to bring more balance to the show are seen as a positive development.

However, the editorial argues that "The View" is not the primary issue. Despite its hosts' controversial comments and perceived elitism, it is a talk show, not a news program. The real problem, according to the editorial, lies in ABC's news coverage, which is perceived to be as left-leaning as the views expressed by Hostin and Goldberg. This bias was evident in the network's handling of the presidential debate and has been a consistent feature of its coverage over the past eight years.

The editorial concludes by urging ABC to hire a smart, funny, pro-Trump woman, of whom there are many to choose from, and to apply this balanced approach to the entire network. This, it suggests, could help to restore the public's severely damaged trust in journalism.
