In a shocking incident in Nassau County, Long Island, New York, an illegal immigrant stands accused of the horrific rape of a five-year-old girl.

The suspect, who had previously been released after crossing the border, has now been apprehended and charged.

Wilson Castillo Diaz, a 26-year-old man, is the alleged perpetrator of this heinous crime, as reported by The Post Millennial. Nassau County police arrested Diaz on October 16, following the assault on the young girl. The specifics of the crime have not been fully disclosed to the media. The victim was promptly taken to a hospital following the assault earlier this month.

Diaz had been residing in Westbury, New York, a region of Long Island, after illegally crossing the border in 2014 during the Obama administration. According to the police, Diaz managed to cross the Texas border near the Rio Grande. He was initially detained and given a notice to appear in immigration court, but was subsequently released.

However, Diaz never attended his scheduled immigration hearing, police revealed to The Post. His arrest has been communicated to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), although the authorities have not disclosed Diaz's country of origin.

Earlier this week, Diaz faced arraignment and was slapped with several charges, including rape, child endangerment, and attempted rape. He is currently being held on a $200,000 cash bond. This incident adds to a growing list of high-profile cases involving illegal immigrants who, after entering the country, have committed violent crimes. These cases underscore the need for robust border control and immigration policies to safeguard the safety and security of American citizens.
