The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet intelligence agency verified the fatalities on Thursday, attributing them to an assault on a Hamas command center in Jabalia the previous day.
As reported by The New York Post, the agencies jointly stated, “Large quantities of weapons were stored inside the command and control center, and it was used by the terrorists to plan and execute terror attacks against IDF troops and the citizens of the State of Israel.” The IDF further revealed that at least three of the deceased Hamas operatives had participated in the October 7 massacre, which claimed over 1,200 lives and sparked the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
The slain operatives were identified as Muhammad Rabe Musbah Arini, Saher Farid Muhammad Abu Rashed, and Zakaria Hussein Abu-Habal. Notably, Abu-Habal held a significant position as a platoon commander for Hezbollah’s elite Nukhba unit in its eastern Jabalia battalion.

Jabalia has been the epicenter of intense combat recently, with Hamas forces reemerging in northern Gaza. A recent clash on Tuesday resulted in the death of 20 terrorists and one IDF soldier, as stated by the Israeli military. The Hamas-run ministry of health, which does not distinguish between civilians and terrorists, reported an additional 19 fatalities from a series of airstrikes near a densely populated refugee camp on the same day.
