The pursuit, which spanned over an hour, was brought to a halt when law enforcement deployed spike strips to incapacitate the bus's tires. The hijacker, however, barricaded himself within the vehicle. LAPD's SWAT team intervened, deploying flash bangs to disorient the suspect before apprehending him and rescuing the driver and a passenger. Tragically, another passenger was discovered on board with multiple gunshot wounds and was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
