Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center continues to hold Sean "Diddy" Combs, the renowned hip-hop mogul, who was recently placed under suicide watch.

Combs was taken into custody on Monday following an indictment for sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for prostitution purposes.

Legal experts suggest that these charges could potentially lead to a life sentence for the music industry titan. Despite pleading not guilty, Combs has been denied bail twice and remains in the New York City prison.

As reported by Mediaite, Combs was described as being "in shock" and his mental state was deemed "unclear," prompting authorities to place him on suicide watch as a precautionary measure. The U.S Department of Justice National Institute of Corrections defines suicide watch as "supervisory precautions taken for suicidal inmates that require frequent observation."

The Metropolitan Detention Center, where Combs is currently held, has a notorious reputation for being "dangerous and understaffed, with a high number of deaths and suicides," according to People. Combs's legal representative, Marc Agnifilo, has requested a transfer for his client to a different facility in New Jersey's Essex County, citing the substandard conditions at MDC. However, the judge clarified that the decision lies with the Bureau of Prisons.

The indictment, unsealed on Tuesday, provides a detailed account of the alleged "criminal enterprise" led by Combs. It suggests that the mogul exploited his influence and celebrity status to conceal years of continuous abuse against women. The unfolding of this case serves as a stark reminder of the power dynamics in the entertainment industry and the urgent need for accountability.
