As reported by The Post Millennial, court documents disclosed that 29-year-old Louis Bernabe had journeyed from Toronto to Seattle, where he checked into the W Hotel, a mere three blocks from Senator Murray's office. Bernabe, who neither resides nor works in Seattle, has left authorities puzzled about his arrival date in the city.
On September 10, Bernabe took to social media to issue a chilling threat to Senator Murray, stating, “Senator Murray @senpattymurray, I am warning you ONCE AND FOR ALL. Quit your trashy play of partisan nonsense AT ONCE, or I swear to God, I WILL have you check the undercarriage of your car every single day to ensure you don’t get BLOWN UP to pieces. The people of this county have had it with the nonproductive crap from both sides. I have not seen my girlfriend in FIVE YEARS. We have the right to be in couple and reproduce if we choose to. If you deny us this right, you are nothing more than a nasty animal. In this case, I will condone whoever decides to put you down. Rabid creatures should be put to death.”

The day following his online threat, Bernabe, who has a clean criminal record, visited Senator Murray's Seattle office, inquiring about meeting her. He subsequently posted a selfie from the floor housing Murray’s office and shared an image of a Heckler & Koch UMP submachine gun.

Court documents reveal that Bernabe was incarcerated in the King County jail on two counts of issuing bomb threats and felony harassment. Initially held on a $50,000 bail, the amount was later escalated to $250,000. The incident underscores the ongoing threats faced by public officials, even as questions remain about Bernabe's motivations and the timing of his actions.
