Dennis Quaid, a renowned Hollywood actor known for his roles in blockbuster films such as “The Big Easy,” “The Parent Trap,” and “Great Balls of Fire,” is currently captivating audiences in the critically acclaimed biopic, “Reagan."

Quaid, whose acting career spans over four decades with more than 80 films to his credit, portrays the 40th President of the United States in a film that has garnered a 98% audience approval rating, despite a mere 19% critics rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

According to Gateway Pundit, the film, which outperformed box-office expectations in its opening weekend, has been met with applause from audiences, while critics have been less enthusiastic. This dichotomy between public and critical reception is hardly surprising, given the film's focus on Reagan's staunch opposition to communism, a stance that resonates with many conservative viewers.

Newsweek reported that the film, loosely based on Paul Kengor's 2006 book, "The Crusader: Ronald Reagan and the Fall of Communism," traces Reagan's journey from his early years, through his acting career, and his battle against communists in Hollywood, culminating in his presidency. The narrative is largely delivered by actor Jon Voight, who plays a fictional retired KGB officer attributing the Soviet Union’s collapse to Reagan.

Over the Labor Day weekend, "Reagan" was the only new release that could compete with films that had opened earlier in the summer. The film's success is a testament to Reagan's enduring appeal and the public's appreciation for his courageous stand against the Soviet Union and communism.

It's worth noting that Quaid, who brings Reagan to life on the big screen, publicly endorsed President Trump earlier this year, further aligning himself with conservative values. As the film continues to draw audiences, it serves as a reminder of Reagan's legacy and the enduring appeal of conservative ideals.
