This marks the largest crisis deployment of America's top warplane, indicating the severity of the situation.
According to Grant, the U.S. is preparing for a possible multi-axis retaliation from Iran following the killing of Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has reportedly increased U.S. forces in the region, adding F-22s to the existing combat aircraft and the Navy's aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt.
The F-22, described by Grant as the world's most advanced fighter, is equipped with supersonic speed and a colossal radar, enabling it to detect and eliminate even the smallest of targets. Its stealth capabilities make it difficult for Iran's air defenses to detect.
The F-22s have previously been deployed to the Middle East, conducting air-to-ground strikes in Syria in 2014 and 2018, and patrolling with allies over eastern Syrian airspace in the war against ISIS. However, the surprise this time is the quantity of F-22s being deployed, given that the Air Force only has a total of 183.

The deployment of a full squadron of F-22s sends a clear message to Tehran that the U.S. means business, according to Grant. The F-22s also signal the U.S.'s readiness to carry out retaliatory strikes against the Houthis or other targets, if necessary.

Grant also noted that China will be closely watching the massive deployment of F-22s. This serves as a sharp reminder to China that the U.S. Air Force still wields dominant air power and can deploy combat-seasoned F-22s on China's doorstep within hours.

The F-22 deployment is also influenced by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General C. Q. Brown, a fighter pilot himself. Having commanded thousands of missions during his three years as the top airman and Deputy Commander of U.S. Central Command, Brown is well-versed in Iran's capabilities and weak spots.
GRETCHEN WHITMER'S OPPONENT'S CAMPAIGN IS NOT OFF TO A GOOD START!
Despite the political turmoil with Iran and their terror gangs, Grant asserts that the U.S. military response is strong and cool-headed. The F-22s and the rest of the air and sea armada face a significant task, as Iran's attacks may be wider this time.

Grant concludes by stating that a successful defense against Iran's barrage will also boost the U.S.'s posture against China. Demonstrating that the F-22s can intercept drones and missiles in the Middle East will validate deterrence against China as well.
