Soal, an avid social media user, believes that the platform provides an unfiltered insight into the political sentiments of Black Americans.

For decades, the Democratic party has been perceived as the champion of Black rights, leveraging mainstream media and historical threats of violence from groups like the KKK to secure the Black vote. However, Soal suggests that the upcoming 2024 elections might not be as straightforward for the Democrats.

Soal recalls the 2016 election when CNN launched a campaign against the Black community, highlighting David Duke's endorsement of Trump and the infamous Charlottesville incident. The network's coverage, she argues, perpetuated the false narrative that Trump referred to the event's participants as "very fine people."

Such tactics, according to Soal, have fostered a sense of entitlement among Democrats, leading them to believe that labeling their opponents as 'racist' or 'Hitler' would guarantee the loyalty of their Black voters. She cites Project 25 as a recent example, where Black politicians like Rep. Ayanna Pressley use such terms to incite their followers on social media.

Soal criticizes Pressley, a DEI Congresswoman, for focusing on actions that she believes will secure the continued support of her Black voters, while failing to acknowledge the financial struggles of her Black followers.

In a recent TikTok video, a Black woman expressed her frustration with the Democratic party, stating that she would need to be paid for her participation in the upcoming November elections. Soal notes that Black women on Twitter are also growing weary of the Democrats' fear-mongering tactics.

Interestingly, Black journalists from Democratic backgrounds are beginning to question the narratives as well. Soal cites a report by The Hill, which discusses Joe Biden's dwindling support among Black voters in seven swing states compared to the last election cycle.

According to a Wall Street Journal poll, 57 percent of Black men plan to support Biden, a significant drop from the 87 percent who voted for him four years ago. Similarly, 77 percent of Black women plan to vote for Biden, down from 93 percent in 2020.

Soal concludes by stating that Black voters, who have historically supported the Democratic Party for about six decades, are increasingly questioning the dubious return on their political investment. She believes that the growing discontent among everyday Black Americans should be noted as real progress.
