In a recent interview with CNN, Jane Fonda, a prominent figure on the far-left, staunchly defended the mental fitness of President Biden, stating that he is "just fine."

According to Fox News, Fonda, an 86-year-old actress and long-standing progressive activist, is five years Biden's senior.

"I'm older than he is," Fonda stated, emphasizing her support for the President's capabilities despite his age. Fonda, who has been a controversial figure since her infamous photograph on a North Vietnam anti-aircraft gun in 1972, expressed her belief in the wisdom that comes with age. "I can tell you that you do get wiser and you do learn things. You learn from your mistakes. I have seen him up close and personal and he's fine. He's perfectly suited to be President of the United States … He's just fine," she asserted.

Fonda's comments were in response to remarks made by First Lady Jill Biden at a rally in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The rally was part of an initiative to engage older voters through activities such as pickleball and bingo nights. "Joe and that other guy are essentially the same age. Let’s not be fooled," Jill Biden said. "Joe isn't one of the most effective presidents of our lives in spite of his age, but because of it."

Fonda, who has been vocal about her disdain for former President Trump, whom she referred to as the "Orange Man" multiple times in her interview, praised Biden as a leader with whom we can work. "He's someone we can work with and that's what we need," she said. "We don't need a demagogue."

The actress, who is also a fervent climate activist, expressed her support for Biden, largely attributing it to her belief in the existential threat of the climate crisis. "That's why I really want to elect Joe Biden because we're running out of time," she said. "I have grandchildren. I won't be around to see the worst of it but we have to confront the climate crisis and we have to do it fast."

In a previous interview on "The View," Jill Biden argued that her husband's age is an asset rather than a liability. "This election is not about age. I mean Donald Trump is going to be 78 and Joe's 81. They're basically the same age," she said. "But, it's about character. This election is about character."
