In a recent private gathering with New York donors, former President Donald Trump reportedly pledged to halt the "radical revolution" taking place on American college campuses if he is reelected.

According to anonymous donors cited by The Washington Post, Trump also vowed to expel foreign students who protest against Israel.

The event, which took place on May 14, was attended by what Trump humorously referred to as "98 percent of my Jewish friends." The former President was quoted as saying, "One thing I do is, any student that protests, I throw them out of the country. You know, there are a lot of foreign students. As soon as they hear that, they’re going to behave."

When donors voiced their worries about anti-Israel students and professors potentially gaining influential positions in the U.S., Trump reportedly identified them as part of a "radical revolution." He emphasized the urgency of halting these protests, praising the New York Police Department's management of the Columbia University encampment and suggesting other cities should emulate this approach.

"If you get me reelected, we’re going to set that movement back 25 or 30 years," Trump said, according to the donors who spoke to the Post.

At the private event, Trump also reportedly expressed his support for Israel's ongoing "war on terror" and lauded his administration's policies on Israel. However, he did not mention Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with whom he reportedly has not spoken for years since Netanyahu acknowledged President Biden's 2020 victory.

The presumptive Republican presidential nominee has been under pressure from GOP donors to adopt a more robust stance in support of Israel and specifically, Netanyahu. In an April interview with conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt, Trump stated that Israel needs to "get it over with, and let’s get back to peace and stop killing people" in reference to its war in Gaza.

In response to the donors' account of the New York event, the Trump campaign's national press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, issued a general statement to the Post. "When President Trump is back in the Oval Office, Israel will once again be protected, Iran will go back to being broke, terrorists will be hunted down, and the bloodshed will end," Leavitt said.

While comparing the size of anti-Israel demonstrations to his rallies, Trump reportedly stated that "Israel is losing its power" in Washington, D.C., particularly within Congress. "It’s incredible," Trump added, questioning how Jewish people could vote for Democrats, specifically Biden. "They always let you down," he concluded.
