Pope Francis has paved the way for the canonization of the first millennial, following the recognition of a second miracle attributed to an Italian teenager, Carlos Acutis.

Acutis, who succumbed to Leukemia in 2006 at the tender age of 15, was colloquially referred to as "God's influencer.".

He utilized his computer proficiency to propagate the Catholic faith on the internet.

In 2020, Acutis was beatified, a process that followed the attribution of one miracle to him. The acknowledgment of a second miracle now allows for his elevation to sainthood.

The decision to recognize the second miracle was made by Pope Francis during a meeting with Cardinal Marcello Semeraro, the head of the Vatican's department responsible for the canonization process, as reported by Reuters.
