Chicago residents, frustrated with the perceived neglect from the city's longstanding Democratic leadership, have adopted a rallying cry: "Go Red… No More Blue, No Matter Who!".

This sentiment is largely fueled by the Biden administration's controversial open border policy, which has led to an influx of undocumented immigrants.

As previously reported by The Gateway Pundit, two Chicago Aldermen, Anthony Napolitano (41st) and Anthony Beale (9th), have proposed a resolution to include a referendum on the March 2024 primary ballot. This referendum would ask voters whether Chicago should maintain its status as a sanctuary city.

The city has reportedly spent over $100 million to accommodate the influx of undocumented immigrants, a consequence of the Biden administration's open border policy. Despite this significant expenditure, the city is struggling to cope with the situation. Migrants are being housed in police stations and even at O'Hare airport, which has reportedly become a hazardous and unsanitary encampment.

A migrant shelter at O'Hare airport, housing over 1,800 residents, including 95 children aged two years and under, is currently dealing with a measles outbreak. In response, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have dispatched a team to help manage the situation.

According to The Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago is projected to face a $538 million budget deficit for 2024, with over a third of this shortfall attributed to the immigration crisis.

A video that has gone viral shows Chicago residents chanting their new slogan, expressing their dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs. "The inner city realizes they have been controlled by Democrats for decades and nothing has gotten better. Now they’re being sold out and replaced by illegals. They are done with Joe Biden and the open borders Democrats," wrote Ben Bergquam, a reporter for Real America’s Voice.

The Democratic National Committee recently announced that Chicago will host the 2024 Democratic National Convention. However, this decision has sparked outrage among some black residents who rely on government resources. They argue that these resources are being diverted to accommodate undocumented immigrants.

One resident expressed their frustration, saying, "This is about our people demanding the resources just as you’ve given these people – these newcomers that walk into this country! How do you take a new group of people that have paid no taxes, can’t vote and you put them in front of the voters!"

This resident also issued a warning to the Democrats, stating that there won't be a peaceful Democratic National Convention in Chicago if the needs of the city's residents continue to be overlooked.

George Blakemore, an 81-year-old Chicago resident and well-known activist, voiced his discontent with the city council for their handling of the immigration situation. He called on former President Trump to intervene, stating, "Trump, come in here and clean this mess up! The most corrupt city in the United States is the city of Chicago."
