Renowned entrepreneur Elon Musk disclosed on Sunday that he has been the target of two assassination attempts in Texas in recent months.

Speaking at an X Spaces event hosted by Canadian author and professor Gad Saad, Musk described the suspects as "mentally ill" individuals who harbored conspiracy theories about his companies' products.

"In just the last six months, I have had two cases of people who are unfortunately just very mentally ill, and they have come to Austin to try to kill me with guns," Musk revealed during the event.

Referring to the suspects as "extreme schizophrenics," Musk shared details about their delusions. One of the assailants believed Musk had implanted a Neuralink chip in his head, prompting Musk to humorously question the effectiveness of such a chip if it were indeed controlling the individual.

Musk further explained that the other suspect had experienced a severe "total detachment from reality" due to discontinuing medication. Despite these alarming incidents, Musk expressed frustration over the limitations they impose on his daily life, stating, "I can't easily go to the mall or a movie theater or walk around without creating a ruckus."

Acknowledging the need for heightened security measures, Musk confirmed having security in place, which has notably reduced the frequency of death threats against him. While Musk has encountered stalkers previously, including an unsettling incident involving his son, X Æ A-Xii, in December 2022, he took proactive steps by altering policies on social media platforms to safeguard personal information.
