Hunter Biden appeared before the House Oversight and Judiciary committees in Congress on Wednesday for a closed-door deposition, following his initial refusal to attend over two months ago, risking potential contempt of Congress charges.

During the deposition, Rep. Matt Gaetz shared a notable revelation from Hunter Biden, stating that he joined the board of Burisma to counter Russian aggression. Gaetz expressed surprise at this revelation, emphasizing the significance of Hunter Biden's role in standing up to Vladimir Putin through his position on the Burisma board.

Gaetz highlighted that Hunter Biden cooperated during the deposition by not invoking the fifth amendment and actively responding to questions posed by committee members. When questioned about the value Hunter Biden brought to Burisma, Gaetz dismissed the notion of any substantial contribution, labeling it as a facade for bribery rather than genuine international business involvement.

In his opening statement, Hunter Biden denounced the investigation into his father as being driven by "MAGA-motivated conspiracy theories." He criticized the committees for pursuing him as part of a partisan agenda, accusing them of propagating unfounded allegations while disregarding factual evidence contradicting their claims about his father. Hunter Biden asserted that the allegations against his father lacked any credible basis and were rooted in political motivations rather than factual evidence.
