The mysterious disappearance of 40-year-old Ana Maria Knezevic in Madrid, Spain, has sparked concern and suspicion among her friends and family.

Knezevic, who was in the midst of divorce proceedings, had recently moved into a Madrid apartment in December.

Spanish authorities reported that Knezevic vanished from her apartment in early February. In a chilling twist, a man, his face concealed by a motorcycle helmet, was seen on blurry security footage tampering with the security cameras at Knezevic's residence shortly after her disappearance.

Knezevic's close friend, Sanna Rameau, expressed her deep suspicion during an interview with Fox News, particularly regarding text messages sent from Knezevic's phone. The first message read, "I met someone wonderful!! He has a summer house about 2h from Madrid. We are going there now and I will spend a few days there. Signal is spotty. I'll call you when I get back." The second message stated, "Yesterday after therapy I needed a walk and he approached me on the street! Amazing connection. Like I never had before."

Rameau responded to the messages, saying, "First of all, that is not how she writes. Everything is very strange with that message. It's not something that she would do. It's not at all like her. It was written in a sense that I didn't recognize it. Ana is my best friend. I know how she expresses herself, I know how she writes. And it just did not sound like her at all."

Rameau also revealed that messages in Spanish were sent from Knezevic's phone to a close friend in Barcelona. "According to her family, who is Spanish speaking, and her friend, obviously, when they read the message, they said it looks like it was [put together] by a translator," she said, describing the messages as "very, very odd."

Rameau emphasized that it was out of character for Knezevic to lose contact with her friends and family. "We have, I want to say, almost daily contact. She tells me everything about what she's doing. She's spent a lot of time in Madrid, and this time she went there on December 27," Rameau said. "For her to meet a random person in the streets of Madrid [and] go off into some house? No, that is not like Ana."
