President Biden has been met with widespread criticism following his first visit to East Palestine, Ohio, which occurred more than a year after a hazardous train derailment in the area.

The derailment led to the release of over a million gallons of toxic chemicals into the environment, posing a significant threat to the rural village.

Despite the administration's claims that Biden has maintained a "laser focus" on the issues plaguing the rural village, the president's delay of 378 days before visiting the area has drawn heavy criticism from Republicans, public figures, and local residents. The rural Ohio town, situated in Columbiana County on the state's border with Pennsylvania, has been in dire need of attention.

Representative Jim Jordan, a Republican from Ohio, recalled, "President Trump: Visited East Palestine right after the train derailment and bought food for the community. President Biden: Visited Ukraine after the train derailment and visited East Palestine a year later."

Stephen L. Miller, a contributing editor for The Spectator, sarcastically questioned Biden's delayed arrival, asking, "What's the rush?" Doug Powers from Twitchy also criticized the timing of the visit, stating, "So yeah, this is why the White House didn't want to finally send Biden to East Palestine a year too late. You've heard of a ‘Friday document dump’ -- this is a 'Friday presidential visit dump.'"

The president's behavior during his visit also drew criticism. Jake Schneider, GOP rapid response director, commented, "Biden clearly didn't want to be there today. He really is just an awful, heartless person. Shame on him." Greg Price, State Freedom Caucus communications director, noted Biden's awkward behavior during the press conference, stating, "As East Palestine's mayor is speaking, Biden reaches into all of his pockets, finds nothing, and then goes back to standing normal."

The president's delayed response to the crisis was met with protests from local residents, who criticized Biden's slow response and expressed their support for former President Trump. A commentator duo, The Hodgetwins, responded to a video of the protests, stating, "Nobody likes Biden."

RedState writer "Bonchie" criticized Biden's decision to visit East Palestine a year after the incident, stating, "Biden showing up in East Palestine a year later is one of the dumbest political decisions I've ever seen. Had he gone immediately, he would have pre-empted Trump and avoided much protest due to the seriousness of the situation. Now, he just looks like a clown."

The criticism of Biden's delayed visit to East Palestine underscores the ongoing dissatisfaction with his administration's handling of the crisis. As the President faces backlash for his perceived lack of urgency, the question remains: who is running this administration?
