Tucker Carlson, the former Fox News host, has been maintaining an active schedule in Moscow, engaging in meetings with two prominent American figures currently living in exile in the Russian capital.

As reported by Semafor, Carlson spent several hours on Thursday in conversation with Edward Snowden, the former National Security Agency (NSA) whistleblower. Snowden, who was a frequent presence in the media following his flight to Russia, has in recent years chosen to keep a lower profile, citing a desire for increased privacy for his family.

It is important to note that the discussion with Snowden was not intended for Carlson's video program. However, Carlson did record an interview with Tara Reade, a former junior Senate aide who, years later, accused President Joe Biden of sexual assault, a claim which Biden has denied. Reade relocated to Russia last year after progressively voicing her support for pro-Russian policies over several years. In 2022, she was invited by the Russian delegation to the United Nations to speak on the topic of "weapons diversion" and hosted Russia's Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations on her YouTube channel. Carlson, in 2020, was notably skeptical when Reade made her allegations.

The Independent also covered this development, stating that Carlson's meeting with Snowden, the NSA leaker, took place in Moscow. Snowden, who was granted asylum in Russia in 2013 after leaking a large number of classified NSA documents, has been a permanent resident of Russia since 2020. That same year, he expressed his intention to seek dual citizenship, tweeting, "after years of separation from our parents, my wife and I have no desire to be separated from our son."

While Carlson's meeting with Snowden was not for his video program, he did record an interview with Tara Reade, who has accused President Joe Biden of sexual assault, a claim Biden has denied.
