During a recent Paramore concert, Freshman Congressman Maxwell Frost, D-Fla., made a bold statement directed towards his home state's governor, Ron DeSantis.

The young Democratic lawmaker joined the band onstage towards the end of their Washington D.C. set on Friday, where he performed one of their most famous songs, but not before throwing out some tough political trash talk before rabid fans.

Before performing "Misery Business," from Paramore's 2007 album, "Riot!," social media clips showed Frost being introduced to the crowd by lead singer Hayley Williams. The singer put her microphone up to his face and asked, "Do you want to say anything to these beautiful people?" Frost then pointed into the crowd and yelled into the mic, "F--- Ron DeSantis! F--- fascism!" The group went wild in response as Frost walked away from Williams, who playfully shrugged.

Later footage showed that Williams and the band gave Frost the mic for their play through of "Misery Business," with the lawmaker belting the lyrics into the mic and dancing wildly onstage alongside the frontwoman.

After the show, Frost addressed his controversial statement on Twitter. In one tweet, he declared, "I said what I said." And in response to a conservative account sharing the clip, he replied, "lol they're so mad."

Frost's anti-DeSantis remarks mirrored those of Williams, who last week blasted any DeSantis 2024 supporters in the audience at the Paramore show in New Jersey. Just days after DeSantis announced his run for the presidency, Williams told the Atlantic City crowd, "I'll be happy to tell you I'm very f---ing comfortable talking politics. And if you vote for Ron DeSantis, you're f---ing dead to me."
