A recent video taken by a mother at Disneyland has sparked controversy, as it appears to show a man in a dress with a mustache greeting children at the "Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique," a salon and dress shop where children can get princess makeovers.

The video was first posted on TikTok on May 23, 2023, and has since been shared on various social media platforms. While it is unclear when the video was taken, it has raised questions about the park's hiring practices and inclusivity policies.

According to TimCast, the employee in question was seen greeting little girls at the boutique, introducing himself as "Nick, one of the fairy godmother's apprentices." The video shows him waving to a child and offering to assist with their selections for the day. The video's caption reads, "Disney has a man in a dress working in the dress store for little girls at Disneyland. This is who Disney wants girls to see when they first walk in to pick out a dress."

The video has sparked debate about the appropriateness of having a man in a dress greet children at a store that caters to young girls. The expensive boutique offers complete princess makeovers, including hair and makeup, and is limited to children between 3 and 12. The store's website describes it as where children can "transform into their favorite princesses with the help of their very own Fairy Godmother in Training."

However, according to a report by Inside the Magic, Disney resorts changed their policy on greeters in 2022 to be more inclusive. The report explains that greeters at the boutique used to be "fairy godmothers in training," typically young women who would assist young girls in deciding what type of princess makeover they would prefer. The new policy allows "Cast Members who don't identify as female to participate," the greeters are now called "Fairy Godmother's Apprentices."

The Walt Disney Company and Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products have not yet responded to requests for comment on the video or the park's hiring policies. It is also unclear whether the person in the video is a biological male or whether they are still employed with Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products.

The video has sparked a heated debate on social media, with some users expressing support for Disney's inclusivity policies. In contrast, others argue that having a man in a dress greet young girls is inappropriate. The controversy highlights the ongoing debate around gender identity and inclusivity in society and the workplace.
