Hunter Biden, son of President Biden, reportedly faces financial difficulties amidst a federal investigation into his financial affairs and international business dealings.

In response to these challenges, Biden has sought the counsel and financial assistance of Kevin Morris, a high-profile Hollywood attorney, and significant Democratic donor.

Morris, 58, is a well-known entertainment industry figure, representing celebrities such as Chris Rock and Matthew McConaughey. He gained significant recognition for negotiating a lucrative licensing deal for the creators of "South Park," an animated comedy series. Additionally, Morris has a Tony award as a co-producer of the successful musical "Book of Mormon." He has authored two novels and a collection of short stories.

In the political arena, Morris has been a generous donor to Democratic candidates and groups, as evidenced by public records. Last year, he donated $100,000 to a political action committee supporting Conor Lamb, a Pennsylvania Democrat who lost the Senate primary race to now-Sen. John Fetterman. Morris also contributed $50,000 each to Americans Keeping Country First — a super PAC supporting Republican members of Congress who voted to impeach or convict former President Donald Trump — and the American Bridge 21st Century PAC, which conducts opposition research against Republican politicians.

Currently, Morris appears to be focusing his efforts on assisting Hunter Biden. His involvement in Biden's affairs has become so extensive that he has been referred to as Biden's "sugar brother," providing financial support, contributing to a book, and even lending a private jet.

According to the New York Post, Biden, 53, used Morris' luxury private jet, a 2001 Dassault Falcon 50 worth $6 million, to travel to and from his recent child-support hearing in Arkansas. The plane is registered to Plato LLC, with Morris reported as the principal. The round trip, which covered 7,326 miles, is estimated to have cost between $55,000 to $117,000, equivalent to up to six months of Biden's child-support payments.

Biden was in court to negotiate a reduction in his child-support payments to his former partner, Lunden Alexis Roberts, 32, the mother of his four-year-old daughter, Navy Joan. Despite having paid $750,000 in child support, Biden argues for a payment reduction due to a "substantial material change" in his financial situation. Roberts' attorney, Clint Lancaster, has questioned Biden's claim of economic hardship, requesting that Biden disclose the funding source for his legal representation.

In addition to the child-support hearing, flight records cited by the Post show Morris' plane landing in or taking off from Fayetteville, Ark., at least nine times between February 2022 and April 2023. Fayetteville is the home of Biden's financial adviser, Edward Prewitt.

Morris has reportedly been instrumental in maintaining Biden's lifestyle, covering some of his rent and living expenses. Notably, Morris loaned over $2 million to Biden to settle his overdue taxes, which are partly the subject of a lengthy Justice Department investigation into potential tax evasion and other crimes.

Morris has also been advising Biden on various legal, personal, and financial matters, including his child-support lawsuit and how to handle ongoing federal investigations into his taxes and business affairs. Chris Clark, Biden's lawyer, told CBS News last year that Morris was serving as an "attorney and trusted adviser" to Biden.

Furthermore, Morris has been involved in selling Biden's artwork. Biden has taken up painting since becoming sober and remarrying and has sold many of his paintings for six-figure sums. This has raised concerns about potential buyers, including foreigners, purchasing the art to influence presidential politics. The White House has developed guidelines to allow Biden to sell his art without him or anyone in the administration knowing the details.

In a new development, emails and business records suggest that Morris controls significant assets belonging to Biden as he seeks to renegotiate his child-support payments. According to the Washington Free Beacon, Morris holds Biden's stake in a Chinese private equity firm called BHR. Morris is identified as the managing member of Skaneateles, the company with Biden's 10% stake in BHR.

Biden's connections to China have been controversial for years and are under increased scrutiny. Fox News Digital reported that Biden was scheduled to meet with Alibaba Group co-founder Jack Ma and other executives in 2016 for a week-long China trip to find potential investors for a movie production venture.

Morris and Biden first met in December 2019 at President Biden's campaign fundraiser. The New York Times he was reported that Morris "soon developed an almost paternal affection" for Biden. Following their meeting, Morris donated significantly more to super PACs supporting the Biden campaign and opposing Trump than he had previously.

As Biden continues to be the subject of federal investigations into his finances and international business dealings, Morris' support appears unwavering. Amidst the ongoing investigations, Morris assisted Biden in completing his 2021 memoir, "Beautiful Things," which details his struggles with drug and alcohol addiction. Morris is also working on a documentary project to portray Biden as a victim of conservative and Republican attacks in recent years.

Interestingly, Morris has been accused of posing as a documentarian. Reports suggest that he lied to gain access to the film set of "My Son Hunter," a movie that presents a fictionalized and unflattering account of Biden's drug use and foreign business dealings. Morris allegedly spent several days on the set, filming footage for a supposed documentary without revealing his relationship with Biden.

Phelim McAleer, a film producer, criticized Morris' behavior as "unethical," stating that he would have treated him differently had he known about his legal and media consultancy role for Hunter Biden and the New York Times reported that Morris could potentially use the footage from Serbia for his documentary.

Despite the controversy, Morris continues to stand by Biden, offering financial and strategic advice. The outcome of the ongoing investigation into Biden's finances remains uncertain, but it could have significant political implications for President Biden. Regardless of the product, it seems likely that Morris will continue to provide counsel to Hunter Biden.
