Christopher Wright, a 43-year-old father of three, died after being brutally beaten by a group of men outside his home in Baltimore, Maryland.

According to Wright's family, he was trying to protect his children from the gang, who had come to finish off a fight that had started at school. The altercation occurred on Friday, and Wright was taken to the hospital but died the next day due to a traumatic brain injury.

The New York Post reported that four men in their 20s and 30s showed up at Wright's home while he was inside with his family. They demanded that Wright bring his fiancée's 14-year-old son outside to fight, but he refused. The gang allegedly said, "If he's not going to fight, then you're going to fight," and proceeded to attack him.

Tracy Karopchinsky, Wright's fiancée, stated that the extent of his injuries indicated that the gang had not simply engaged him in a fistfight.

"Just looking at the damage that was done to him, that wasn't just punching that did that. Like, there's no way that punching did that," she said. Karopchinsky added that the damage was done before the ambulance arrived, and Wright had already had a seizure. She lamented the increasing levels of violence nationwide and said it's up to parents to solve the problem. "It's not the school's responsibility," she stated. "It's our responsibility."

Brooklyn Park Middle School confirmed that the original fight took place, and the Anne Arundel County police have launched an investigation into the subsequent attack.

No charges have been filed against those who took part in the beating. The suspects ruined Wright's family's life, and Karopchinsky pointed out that their lives would also be "changed forever."
