An Aurora Public Schools teacher, Tim Hernandez, calls for a cultural revolution. The violent revolution Hernandez is calling for is against whiteness. The fact that this man has been teaching students is scary. The more you read about the story, the more disturbing it gets. First, he allegedly included lessons on Communism Theory in his classes. Then, he advocated for students to watch a movie called “It’s A Bug’s Life.” Hernandez feels this movie should be followed by a lesson on the proletariat revolution, a social revolution involving the working class overthrowing the wealthy. Fox News reports, “‘A lot of people call me a ‘unicorn.’ I am not an anomaly. I am a testament to our work; this is sacred, powerful, and necessary. I tell my students the truth,’ he said, according to his notes from a Memphis rally in September 2021 reviewed by Fox News.” [tweet_embed]May 20, 2023[/tweet_embed] Hernandez says these theories should be broken down into actions that we can do and that our children can do. This includes lessons in schools. He said they discuss these theories in class, such as discussions on who knows Marxism better. Then, Hernandez says it’s essential to get into the workplace and the schools and discuss things with friends and family. He says it’s time to take action, and the revolution won’t happen like people think it will. Fox News says, “Your [communist] theory will not save you. The revolution… will happen in the hood. It will not be led by those who understand Lenin best; the deepest Marxists will not lead it. The people will lead the revolution. And I say all of this because I’m a teacher.” Hernandez thinks the most underprivileged will lead the revolution against those that society views as most privileged. Not only is this against people that don’t live in the hood, but it’s also against whiteness and what Hernandez views as white supremacy. He calls for a forceful cultural revolution against systematic whiteness and anything deemed white supremacy. This idea has deep roots in Chinese Communism. Per Fox News, “The phrase “Cultural Revolution” is derived from communist totalitarian history. The Chinese Cultural Revolution was a political purge and persecution of millions of suspected anti-revolutionaries orchestrated by Mao, the chairman of the People’s Republic of China, from 1949 to 1976. The violent movement vehemently opposed the “Four Olds:” Old Ideas, Old Culture, Old Customs, and Old Habits and featured the destruction of cultural artifacts.” We’re already seeing the destruction of artifacts.
