Disgraced Ex-Congressman Eyes Political Comeback

This comes after he was seen with his estranged wife, Huma Abedin, at the Inner Circle charity dinner. Curtis Sliwa says politics run in Weiner’s blood, so it only makes sense that he should be in politics.

Stilwa says that Weiner needs to take the city back from AOC for the benefit of the city. According to NY Post, “‘There’s always going to be misgivings lingering. That will never go away,’ Sliwa said of Weiner’s sordid past. ‘He has to speak out on his problems constantly and how you can make amends for that. You can become an example. That’s the only way.’”

The 58-year-old has a sordid past full of sexting. In 2011, it was discovered that he sent lewd photos to multiple women. Soon after, he resigned from Congress. However, it didn’t stop there. He then tried to run for mayor in 2013 but quit when people found out he was still sexting.

Then, he had a stint in federal prison. Per the NY Post, “In 2017, he was sentenced to 21 months in federal prison for sexting a 15-year-old girl. Upon his release in 2019, he was forced to register as a sex offender.” Since then, he’s been the CEO of a glass company and a crisis PR man. However, in 2022, he was thrust back into the spotlight when he landed his radio gig with Stilwa.

While many are eyeing the potential for a comeback, others wonder what’s happening with his marriage. Divorce proceedings began in 2017. According to Fox News, “Since opening divorce proceedings in 2017, Abedin had also been dating celebrity actor Bradley Cooper as of last year. Weiner stated that his and Abedin’s divorce was “all but finalized” in February 2022, but the two still have not formally parted ways more than a year later.”Albedin left alone that night, and the two were spotted giving each other a cordial goodbye in the lobby.

During his 2017 trial, Weiner described himself as a man with a sickness. Why anyone would encourage a sex offender that admits he has a problem in Congress is beyond me.
