Last week, after the tragic mass shooting by a transgender individual in Nashville, progressive protestors congregated at the Tennessee Assembly to call for gun control legislation.

The shooter, identified as a transgender individual, murdered six Christians, three of whom were young children, at a private Christian school in Nashville. During the protests that took place inside the Tennessee Assembly, three Democratic leaders utilized a bullhorn and led the demonstrators from the Assembly floor, which caused a temporary shutdown of the legislature for approximately an hour. The protestors chanted “no action, no peace!” in their fight for gun control.

After the insurrection, the Tennessee State Legislature voted to remove the Democrats who led the protests from the legislative body. The Democrats, Justin Jones and Justin Pearson, were expelled from the legislature for participating in the insurrection on March 30th within the Tennessee State Capitol in Nashville.
