McCormick claims to have relevant information that implicates President Biden in a foreign influence-peddling "conspiracy" that the FBI have allegedly ignored
McCormick had visited Ukraine with Vice President Biden on three occasions, and alleges that on a 2014 trip, current national security adviser Jake Sullivan briefed reporters aboard Air Force Two about the U.S.'s interest in helping Ukraine's natural gas industry.
At the time, Hunter was working with Burisma, a Ukrainian natural gas firm. McCormick indicates his belief that the FBI should investigate this matter based on his eyewitness report, saying that "Joe Biden committed crimes in Ukraine in a conspiracy with Jake Sullivan" and that "this ties Joe Biden into promoting a kickback scheme with Ukraine.

While President Biden is not a focus of the investigation into Hunter Biden, at least one witness mentioned him in the Delaware grand jury as being the "big guy" described in a May 2017 email, due a 10% cut in a Chinese energy venture.

The U.S. attorney's office in Delaware has been investigating Hunter Biden for potential tax fraud, illegal foreign lobbying, money laundering, and for lying on a federal gun-purchase form about his drug use. He has paid about $2 million in back taxes to avoid prosecution although this does not legally absolve him of the original non-payment.

Hunter Biden was paid up to $1 million per year from 2014 through 2019 to serve on Burisma's board, despite having no relevant industry experience, while his father handled the Obama administration's Ukraine portfolio.
Some government officials and politicians feel that Joe Biden's support for promoting natural gas production in Ukraine, while Hunter was appointed to the board of Burisma, raises issues of corruption.
McCormick, who supports the 2024 candidacy of former President Donald Trump, alleges that Hunter Biden may be linked to classified documents that were recovered last year at President Biden's Wilmington, Del., home. McCormick hints at the notion that the documents allegedly passed between Joe Biden and his son may have been for illegal use, and that Hunter Biden paid up to "half" of his income to his father.

The FBI took possession of Hunter Biden's abandoned laptop in December 2019, which contained a trove of communications detailing Joe Biden's interactions with his son's Chinese, Kazakhstani, Mexican, Russian, and Ukrainian business associates, despite his campaign-trail claims to have never discussed those dealings.

At an April 16, 2015 dinner at Washington DC's Cafe Milano, then-Vice President Biden joined his son and a small group. Vadim Pozharskyi attended as a Burisma paymaster and emailed Hunter Biden the next day, thanking him for "giving an opportunity to meet your father." Pozharskyi's email formed the basis for The Post's first report in October 2020 on documents from Hunter Biden's laptop.
