The 43-year-old has been released on $15,000 bail. The investigation into Cator began in November 2022 after a student told her mother that the teacher allegedly had sex with a student.
According to the affidavit, Cator sent nude photos to at least 10 male students ages 14 to 18 on Snapchat and asked them to reciprocate with explicit images. She also reportedly groomed the students similarly, messaging them through social media. In addition, Cator became friendly with the mothers of the students she was interested in, sending them pictures of their sons in class or at school events. Two of the students were even in a relationship with her daughter at one point.

When confronted by school officials, Cator provided a list of students she had been involved with on social media. She attributed her actions to mental health issues, claiming she could not differentiate between dreams and reality.

The district attorney is now handling the case, and Chief of Police Kyle Webb noted that this case should serve as a reminder that predators can come in any form. He stated, “I think one thing that people need to understand is it's not always a male predator and a female victim. I think sometimes that people look at that differently, maybe they fly under the radar a little bit because they're not used to it.”
