The Pentagon has announced that it will take no disciplinary action against its former Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion chief, Kelisa Wing, despite her divisive comments about White people.

As part of the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) in 2021, Wing has been involved in the curriculum and professional development of over 60,000 military-connected children at 160 schools worldwide.

Wing had tweeted statements such as "I'm exhausted with these white folx in these [professional development] sessions" and "If another Karen tells me about her feelings… I might lose it..." in response to a user who said, "I am exhausted by 99% of the white men in education and 95% of the white women. Where can I get a break from white nonsense for a while?"

Another tweet by Wing read, "[T]his lady actually had the CAUdacity to say that black people can be racist too… I had to stop the session and give Karen the BUSINESS… [W]e are not the majority, we don't have power." "Caudacity" is slang for a white person's audacity.

In addition to this book, Wing had co-created other children's books that said that White people must confess their privilege and were de facto hurting Black people by being benefactors of unearned advantages. She also co-wrote a book about defunding the police and encouraged White kids to "unpack" their "backpack" of privilege and become social justice activists. Wing also referred to 9/11 first responders as "menaces" in her book. They were not human to me. Black, white, or whatever, they were menaces of nature; they were the fire, the comet, the storm, which could — with no justification — shatter my body."

When Wing was promoted in December, the DoD said she "has been involved with diversity, equity and inclusion efforts for students and schools over many years, authoring several books on the topic." The director of DoDEA commented that she was "exactly the right person to lead our efforts in building o

The Pentagon began investigating her posts in September 2021, but the findings were not released until October. According to the Under Secretary of Personnel and Readiness, the employee was speaking in a personal capacity, and the Director of DoDEA took no disciplinary action. Wing was moved to a different position within the organization.

Wing denied making disparaging comments against White people, saying, "No, I did not make disparaging comments against White people. I would never categorize an entire group of people to disparage them." 22 House Republicans had demanded "immediate action" to investigate her for "egregious bias."

The Biden administration signed an executive order in June of 2021 that directed all federal agencies to "establish or elevate Chief Diversity Officers." A few months later, Wing was promoted to this high-ranking position, which was involved in every aspect of the Pentagon's schools. Fox News Digital also found that Wing had promoted the anti-police book "Between the World and Me" by Ta-Nehisi Coates while representing herself as an employee of the Pentagon's education wing.

According to reports, Kelisa Wing's statements have been criticized from both conservative and liberal perspectives, with former CIA director Mike Pompeo saying that the Biden administration had every intention of "tearing down" the Pentagon. Despite this, the Pentagon has maintained that Wing was speaking personally and did not receive disciplinary action.
