The prison sentence for Josh Duggar has been extended even more after contraband was found in his cell, reports Fox News.

The 35-year-old former reality TV star is already serving a 12.5-year sentence for possessing child pornography. He was convicted of those charges in 2021; his original release date was August 12, 2032. However, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons website, that date has been extended an additional two months because contraband was found in Duggar’s cell.

Fox News reports that Duggar allegedly spends his sentence in solitary confinement because he was placed there after having a contraband cell phone in jail. He has been serving his sentence at a low-security prison near Dallas.

Both representatives from the prison and an attorney for Duggar did not immediately respond when asked for comment about the latest allegations of having contraband in prison. Fox News Digital reached out to obtain comments from these individuals, but they did not immediately respond to those requests.

A federal jury in Arkansas found Duggar guilty of charges related to child pornography and possession of those types of materials. Last May, he faced sentencing for those charges and was sentenced to 151 months in prison for his actions. He was transferred from Washington County Jail in Arkansas to FCI Seagoville in Texas last June.

Lawyers for Duggar are still digging in their heels and trying to get the conviction reversed. Not many have much sympathy for this individual and the crimes he was convicted of. Still, the attorneys are simply doing their job and trying to get the best possible outcome for their clients. Overall, it is a troubling situation all the way around, and it is something that people are still monitoring to this day as they seek to understand better how this could have happened.
