The United States continues to blame Russia for taking down a United States drone while Russia continues to deny the claims. Even after video footage surfaced, Russia still denies that they are behind it. However, they have honored the pilot behind the action. Fox News reports, “Russian minister of Defense Sergei Shoigu presented state awards to the fighter jet pilots responsible for downing a U.S. drone over the Black Sea earlier this week.” Fox News continues, “In an official statement, the Ministry of Defense commended the pilots for preventing the drone from ‘violating the boundaries of the temporary airspace regime established for the special military operation.’” [tweet_embed]March 19, 2023[/tweet_embed] The statement continues to accuse the drone of flying with its transponders off, a claim Russia has made since the incident happened. The Russian Ministry of Defense continues to claim that the Russian aircraft did not touch the drone, despite the video of the incident occurring. The increased tensions with the United States are not going unnoticed. U.S. Central Command says there has been unsafe behavior from Russian pilots in Syria, too. He said it is not something you would expect from an organized military. General Michael Kurilla commented on the continuous harassment during a Senate Committee on Armed Forces meeting. He said that Russian aircraft are acting aggressively towards American bases. Russia and America continue to go back and forth, increasing tensions. While Russia remains annoyed that the United States gives billions to Ukraine in weapons, and we are now talking about sending them fighter jets, America continues to ignore Russia’s threats and propaganda. However, tensions continue to increase worldwide, as we can see with the drone incident and what’s happening in Syria. The more America pokes the bear, the more aggressive it will get. Unfortunately, no one knows how this one is going to end.
