Twitter users recently criticized actress Drew Barrymore for kneeling before noted trans-TikTok celebrity Dylan Mulvaney during an interview on "The Drew Barrymore Show" on Monday.

The exchange occurred while discussing Mulvaney’s TikTok series, "Days of Girlhood," and how they combat "hatred" in their careers.

During the conversation, Mulvaney complimented Barrymore, saying, "It’s interesting because I look at someone like you, and I can’t imagine anybody disliking you." Barrymore responded by kneeling before Mulvaney and stating, "Oh, please. Do you want to know, ironically, who dislikes me the most sometimes? Myself."

Twitter users attacked the exchange, accusing Barrymore of "degrading herself" by kneeling before Mulvaney, who is biologically male. State Freedom Caucus Network comms director Greg Price criticized the act, saying, "Women are now getting on their hands and knees to show solidarity with a man who has lived as a woman for less than a year. Truly the sneakiest trick the patriarchy ever pulled."

Other Twitter users, such as YouTuber Oli London and radio host Jennifer Barreto-Leyva, also condemned the exchange. Meanwhile, former Black Lives Matter activist Xaviaer DuRousseau and Claremont Institute Lincoln Fellow Inez Stepman questioned the maturity of the individuals in the video, regardless of their gender.

Mulvaney previously went viral in October for interviewing President Biden on transgender issues. The interview received criticism for promoting gender transitions and for Mulvaney's controversial remarks, such as calling for the normalization of women having visible "bulges" in their crotch area.

The exchange between Barrymore and Mulvaney has sparked controversy and has drawn attention to issues surrounding gender identity and activism.
