Sources suggest that former Trump administration official Ken Cuccinelli is urging DeSantis to run for President in 2024 and has launched the Never Back Down PAC to support his candidacy. The Washington Post reported that DeSantis has already privately expressed his intention to run, and his announcement is expected to be made in early summer.

Former President Donald Trump has not taken kindly to the suggestion of DeSantis running for President and has resorted to name-calling, referring to the governor as "Ron DeSanctimonious" and accusing him of inflating sales numbers for his new book, "The Courage to Be Free: Florida’s Blueprint for America’s Survival." As of now, the book sales have far outpaced Trump, Barack Obama, and Hillary Clinton’s books.
