Liberals FAIL To Disbar Senior Trump Advisor But Woke Judge Files Censure Anyway

Democrats took a stab at getting Ellis disbarred outright, but that effort failed, according to the Post Millennial.

Ellis’ attorney, Michael Melito, said the following about the situation: “My client remains a practicing attorney in good standing in Colorado. We have secured the correct outcome in a very heated political climate.”

Ellis was a senior advisor to the Trump campaign in 2020 and was responsible for securing the authenticity of the 2020 election results and arguing on behalf of the Trump campaign’s position that the results were not what the media was making them out to be.

The Post Millennial reports that the complaint against Ellis was filed by a non-profit group, the 65 Project. Per the Post Millennial, this group says Ellis “attempted to overturn the 2020 election by abusing the court system and making fraudulent, baseless allegations.”

The not-for-profit group was formed in 2021 to “hold accountable lawyers who engage in fraudulent abuse of the legal system to overturn election results and fuel insurrection,” according to the Post Millennial.

Colorado Attorney Regulation Counsel Jessica Yates took the investigation against Ellis seriously and cited that “10 misrepresentations” needed to be corrected. Colorado Newsline reported that this was what Yates had decided to do in this case.

Ellis spoke to the Post Millennial and stated, “This was politically motivated from the start from Democrats and Never Trumpers,” and “They ultimately failed in their attempt to deprive me of my bar license. I’m glad to have this behind me and remain in good standing in Colorado.”

Ellis accepted the censure that Presiding Disciplinary Judge Byron M. Large handed down. Some noted that the judge displayed his pronouns on a plaque featured on his podium.

The judge’s censure stated that it was being handed down because Ellis had made certain statements and comments on social media about the authenticity of the 2020 election that was made “with a least a reckless state of mind” and that Ellis “through her conduct, undermined the American public’s confidence in the presidential election, violating her duty of candor to the public.”.

All of this is to say that there were a lot of opinions handed down by the judge about Ellis’ behavior regarding the 2020 election that seemed at least somewhat politically biased.
