CNN’s then-president Jeff Zucker is under fire again after it came to light that he told CNN staff not to look into the “lab leak theory” of how COVID started.

Zucker suggested that this was a Trump talking point and that they shouldn’t dig deeper into it because it was a political point he didn’t want to amplify.

The New York Post now reports that a “well-placed” source within CNN spoke with Fox News Digital on Monday and revealed that Zucker had put out the order to NOT investigate the lab leak theory in the early months of the pandemic outbreak.

The insider spoke with Fox News Digital and said: “People are slowly waking up from the fog.” That insider continued: “It is kind of crazy that we didn’t chase it harder.”

Mainstream media organizations such as CNN, the New York Times, and MSNBC have all been under fire recently after the latest government report put out information suggesting that the most likely start of the COVID pandemic was due to a lab leak.

In the initial months of the pandemic, the Democrat Party and their liberal allies stuck to the line that the only possible explanation for how the COVID pandemic could have started was due to the virus coming from a bat. Many on the Left suggested that it was “racist” even to indicate that there could be another explanation for how the pandemic began to break out.

The New York Post reached out to CNN and Zucker himself for comment on this latest story, but they did not hear back in time to make the press time for this story.

One of the underlings who followed through on order from Zucker was Oliver Darcy, the network’s media reporter. Darcy wrote a piece in the initial days of the pandemic titled “Here’s how to debunk Coronavirus misinformation and conspiracy theories from friends and family.”

Darcy wrote on March 28, 2020: “While the Coronavirus pandemic has isolated family and friends inside their homes, it has often increased online or over-the-phone communication with loved ones.”

He continued: “But, in some cases, relatives and friends share poor information — whether it is bad science related to preventing the virus, debunked rumors about cities being put on lockdown, or conspiracy theories about the origins of COVID-19.”

CNN wanted to try very hard to tamp down any speculation that COVID might have started via a lab leak, which is now believed to be what happened.
