Both feel that the intelligence agencies that were so quick to discredit the reports about that laptop need to be held to task for what they failed to report on. The two men sent letters to Central Intelligence officials who previously tried to discredit the story. They say that those officials have yet to respond to requests for interviews sent in the past.
The Daily Caller managed to obtain the 29 letters sent to these officials that asked them to provide their “prompt reply” to the letters and help them get the information that they were digging into as they tried to get to where they needed to be. They want to know why these officials worked so hard to discredit the stories about Hunter Biden’s laptop floating around at the time.

The New York Times and the Washington Post finally verified the authenticity of the Hunter Biden laptop in March 2022, a full year after the Daily Caller had already done the same.
Outlets such as the Daily Caller and others had already drawn the lines between the Biden family and their many close ties with companies and individuals in China. However, it seems that the mainstream liberal media wanted to protect the Biden family from the accusations.

The letter from Jordan states:

“The Committee on the Judiciary and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence are conducting oversight of federal law-enforcement and intelligence matters within our respective jurisdictions. The Judiciary Committee made a prior request to you for documents and information about the public statement you signed in October 2020 that falsely implied the New York Post’s reporting about Hunter Biden was the product of Russian disinformation.”

The letter then continues:
“This request, to include a request for a transcribed interview before the Committees, remains outstanding. These documents and your testimony are necessary to further our oversight. As we begin the 118th Congress, we write again to reiterate our outstanding request and ask that you immediately comply in full.”

It was sent to dozens of intelligence officials who GOP House members would like to see held responsible for the actions that they took or failed to take. It is still a matter of time before we know if those officials will respond to the letters.
