The Sexuality Education Coordinator at an exclusive private school in Pennsylvania was seen on a video circulating on social media stating that children are sexual beings from the moment they are born.

The Post Millennial also reports that this individual said that those children need access to pornographic literature as they are sexual beings from the moment they are born.

Al Vernacchio is the Sexuality Education Coordinator in question, and the comments he made regarding pornographic literature came at an awards ceremony last August. Vernacchio has been an educator at Friends' Central, a Quaker school in Pennsylvania, for the last twenty years. This is a school that educates children between the grades of K-12.

He said the following at the ceremony: "That's a huge range, but every single one of those kids is a sexual being," and "They have been since birth, and at every age and stage, we can offer them age appropriate, transformative sexuality education."

He also told the audience gathered there that it wasn't enough that he worked on educating the children about their sexuality. He firmly believes that everyone at the school must work on teaching these children about their sexuality from a very early age. This is even though parents may or may not agree with the viewpoints that Vernacchio has put forward.

He stated: "Part of my message today is that we all, no matter what else we do in life, need to find a way to be sexuality educators for the kids in our lives. If we don't step up, others will, and many of those others don't see wholeness and freedom the way we do."

Vernacchio made it clear that he feels that children are exposed to porn regardless of whether society likes it. He said that children are porn literate and that adults need to understand and accept this.

The Woodhull Freedom Foundation event is where Vernacchio made these comments. A description of the group on YouTube states that we are in "a cultural moment where 'Don't Say Gay' and anti-trans bills are being advanced in state legislatures, and fundamental sexual rights – like access to safe abortion procedures – are being threatened, age-appropriate, value-informed, medically-accurate, progressive sexuality education can be a powerful tool for exploring issues of personal identity, body autonomy, pleasure equity, and sexual justice."

It is highly disturbing for many parents to learn that an individual like this has been trusted to teach their children about sexuality. It seems like he has an extremist agenda that most parents are not on board with.
