A giant spy balloon that was pretty hard to miss made its way across the United States.

However, it was then shot down once it was off the coast of South Carolina, and the army could safely shoot it down without putting Americans in danger. China is less than thrilled that we popped their balloon. Experts on China weigh in on what they think Beijing will do next.

Fox News reports, “Former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for East Asia Heino Klinck told Fox News Digital in a Saturday phone interview that the CCP will “accuse the United States of being provocative and taking kinetic action to remove this Chinese aircraft from American airspace.”

Klinck says that he doesn’t see China being physically aggressive, but he does believe that they will continue statements that it was a weather balloon. Beijing is known for saving face and shifting the blame to someone else. In this situation, they’ll shift the blame to the United States and claim that the aggression from the U.S. was unprovoked.

However, it did point out that the Chinese Communist Party might amp up aggression towards Taiwan in retaliation. If China invades Taiwan, it will lead to a war with the United States.

He further points out that the time to be ready to confront China is now. He says that the United States and its allies must refrain from putting off preparations for years. Instead, it’s time to prepare now.

Others don’t believe China will retaliate at all. Instead, they say that China will want to put this behind them. China will release a statement, but we won’t see any aggression.

China accuses the United States of breaking international law, and they’ve threatened to respond with relentless action. While experts remain on both sides, others say it’s best to take what China says literally. How do you think this will turn out?
