Morgan Daub, 26, and her parents, James Daub, 62, and Deborah Daub, 59, had all taken their own lives in what police described as a “joint decision” made after Morgan told her parents she wished to commit suicide. The family, who were devout Christians, had left detailed notes explaining their plan, according to the police department’s press release.
It is reported that Morgan chose this specific execution date based on bible verse,“Samuel 1:24-28 in which two parents give their child back to God.

The police report said that Morgan Daub had approached her parents in November and told them she wished to end her life, and that the three of them had then discussed and agreed to a “joint decision” to take their own lives together.
According to the police report, James and Deborah Daub had “worked together to make sure that their daughter had the help and courage to go through with her wishes.”

Police investigators said they believe that Morgan Daub was the first to take her own life, with her parents following shortly afterward.

The police report also stated that a number of firearms, believed to be owned by the family, were found at the scene.
Neighbors in the area said they were shocked and saddened by the news, telling reporters that the family had been “very close” and “very religious.”
