Haley, who served as South Carolina’s governor from 2011 to 2017, has been hinting at a possible bid for the White House since late 2020 when she stepped down from her post as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.
She has made multiple appearances on the campaign trail in recent weeks, including a trip to Iowa in early February and an appearance at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Orlando, Florida.
“The United States is the greatest nation in the world and it’s one that I’m proud to have served,” Haley said in a statement. “It’s time for us to take a stand and make sure that we are putting our best foot forward and making sure that the future of this country is one that we’re proud of.”

The invitation for the formal announcement, which will soon go out to her supporters, promises a “special announcement” from Haley. According to the invitation, the event will take place at The Shed at the Charleston Visitor Center, a downtown gathering spot that could draw hundreds of supporters into the heart of the city’s tourism district.

Haley’s presidential bid is expected to gain much support from the Republican Party, as she has long been seen as a rising star in the GOP. She has been a vocal critic of President Joe Biden’s administration and recently published a book, “Leading With Gratitude: How to Create a Culture of Engagement,” which outlines her vision for leading with a spirit of appreciation.

Haley is also a strong supporter of former President Donald Trump and recently praised him for his foreign policy success. “He changed the course of foreign policy in an unprecedented way and made the world a safer place,” she said. “President Trump always put America first and that is something that will never be forgotten.”
