New York City in 2023 seems to be more dangerous than ever before.

Recently, a Fox weatherman was violently attacked by children on the subway. The Western Journal reports that the weatherman jumped in to protect an older man whom the children had begun attacking. However, when he did so, he became the new target of the attack.

The New York Post reports that Fox News meteorologist Adam Klotz was injured by a group of teenagers when he attempted to intervene to protect the elderly man that they were attacking. Worse yet, while the teenagers were initially arrested, they were released without charges.

Klotz released an Instagram video in which he stated that he was returning from the bar where he was watching an NFL football game when he saw an older gentleman being harassed by a group of seven or eight teens.

The New York Post reported that they accessed police reports about the incident and stated that the police reported that the attack took place at approximately 1:15 am on the No.1 train. This train goes from the Bronx to the southern tip of Manhattan.

The attackers, in this case, had been smoking marijuana, according to the Post’s reporting. The teenagers were arrested for their actions but have already been rereleased due to more relaxed criminal laws in New York. A New York Police Department representative stated the following about the situation:

“Juvenile reports were prepared, and their parents were called to pick them up.”

The Post reported the following about the incident:

“It’s unclear why the three nabbed suspects were released without facing charges, but an NYPD spokesman claimed Sunday that the department did not have that option because of their ages and the fact that the crime involved an apparent misdemeanor,” Their report continued in the following way:

“A rep for the city Law Department, which prosecutes juvenile crimes in the Big Apple, said in an e-mail that the victim has to file a complaint with the Department of Probation before it gets involved. The representative said that probation would then decide whether to refer the case to the Law Department for prosecution.”

The weatherman, Klotz, took a good-natured approach to it and the situation. He tried to maintain a sense of humor about what he had been through, even though many might see it as tricky. That said, the crime situation in New York is no laughing matter.
