Recently, a masked robber stormed into a local Chevron and pointed a gun at the cashier.

The cashier said that he heard him mumble the words money and rob, so it was clear what the gunman was after. However, it was clear that him wearing a mask and pointing the gun.

The cashier didn’t take action at first. Then, the gunman started to point the gun at customers. That’s when he shot the man. Fox News states, “‘The suspect became distracted by another person in the store, and the store employee took the opportunity to pull out and use his firearm, shooting and injuring the suspect,’ police said in a statement.”

The cashier, Bryan, doesn’t have any regrets. According to The Blaze, “‘I’m not happy I had to shoot him, but I’m not stressing. The moment he pulled the gun on me, he set the situation, and I followed it. He made the situation what it was,’ added Brian.” The suspect was rushed to a hospital and is in critical condition. Police did not release his name or any other identifying information.

One employee states that everyone else is okay except for the gunman. However, an attorney points out that it wasn’t a good idea for Bryan to have a gun. The Blaze says, “Despite this outcome, Joshua Black, an employment attorney, suggested to AZ Family, ‘My advice to someone working at a gas station would be, do not carry a gun. Do not bring a gun. There is nothing at that job that is worth risking your life.’”

However, quite a few people would disagree with Joshua Black. First, there are the customers that were held at gunpoint and saved. On Tuesday, there was another shooting in Illinois in which a gunman went into a store to rob it and pointed his gun at a customer.

The cashier having a gun saved lives that night, too. There’s nothing wrong with a cashier carrying a firearm and using it to protect themselves or other people in the business.
