The Biden Administration wants to insert itself into our lives more and more. A new report states that the Biden Administration is allegedly considering a national ban on gas stoves. You read that right. The New York Post has reported on the consideration by the Biden Administration for a nationwide ban on gas stoves. This is precisely the kind of thing that gets so many frustrated when they hear about it because it is yet another infringement on the rights and freedoms of the American public. According to reporting by Bloomberg, the Consumer Product Safety Commission is the government agency considering the move. They cite the environmental harm that gas stoves can do in their report. This is why they have made yet another stab at curbing the freedoms many Americans enjoy. He stated the following: “This is a hidden hazard,” and he followed that up with, “Any option is on the table. Products that can’t be made safe can be banned.” [tweet_embed]January 12, 2023[/tweet_embed] The American Chemical Society and New York University Law School’s Institute for Policy Integrity reported that gas stoves emit pollutants such as carbon monoxide and nitrogen dioxide. Those stoves emit these chemicals at levels that are deemed unsafe by the Environmental Protection Agency and World Health Organization. Right now, gas stoves are still used in approximately 40% of all American homes, but it is a concern for those in charge of governing these kinds of pollutants in the environments of the homes of Americans. The studies put out by these organizations have also linked the emotion of gases from these types of stoves to issues with hearts and even cancer. More than 12% of childhood asthma cases can be attributed to gas stoves, according to the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health. Brady Seal, who works for the nonprofit clean energy group RMI told Bloomberg the following: “There are about 50 years of health studies showing that gas stoves are bad for our health, and the strongest evidence is on children and children’s asthma,” He continued by saying: “By having a gas connection, we are polluting the insides of our homes.” The agency is expected to open up the proposal to ban gas stoves to public comment later this year.
