The recent reveal of the Twitter Files brought several issues to light, including how the government works with Big Tech companies and social media platforms.

Now that Republicans are taking control of the house, it’s time to investigate.

The Post Millennial says, “The 118th House of Representatives will see the formation of a new Select Committee, headed by Jim Jordan, to dig into the abuse of power and the Weaponization of Government. This investigative panel will demand emails and correspondence between the Biden administration and big tech companies and follows the massive revelations that came to light through the recent release of the Twitter Files.”

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy had to make a few deals to get elected as House Speaker to get the votes that he needed. One part of the negotiations led to him committing to forming the committee.

The committee’s point is to investigate the government’s actions and the role that certain agencies played regarding censorship, among other things. The Post Millennial says, “‘The probe into communications between tech giants and President Biden’s aides will look for government pressure that could have resulted in censorship or harassment of conservatives — or squelching debate on polarizing policies, including the CDC on COVID,’ Axios reports.”

However, it’s already expected that certain government members won’t participate. The GOP already has a plan in place for that.

Per The Post Millennial, “If government personnel and agencies do not comply, subpoenas are likely to be issued, per a GOP source. The GOP is committed to digging into ‘the politicization of the FBI,’ which not only includes the work done to discredit accurate reporting from the New York Post in the lead-up to the 2020 presidential election but the allegations of Russian election interference in the lead-up to the 2016 election.”

The committee will be able to follow through with a thorough investigation and stop corruption in the government.
