It’s a simple term used to encourage children’s transition. Now, scientists have tackled the term and are letting the world know exactly what they’ve discovered regarding gender identity.

The Daily Wire says, “According to an international group of over 100 clinicians and researchers, there is currently no biological evidence for “gender identity” and no laboratory test that can distinguish a trans-identified person from a non-trans-identified person. Despite this, the belief in “gender identity” is used as the basis for medically transitioning thousands of children and adolescents.”

The article starts by explaining that no scientific method exists to prove that things like gender identity or gender dysphoria exist. No tests can prove or disprove whether an individual has a gender identity crisis. It goes on to point out five myths that are often touted as being facts.

There is evidence that roughly 60–90% of children who identify as transgender but do not socially or medically transition will no longer identify as transgender in adulthood, and many will grow up to be gay adults.”

The paper explains why there is no solid research to back gender identity. The term was initially coined years ago by a psychologist named John Money. He believed strongly that every person should start their life with a blank slate and that nurturing, such as social influence, should take the place of nature, such as biological sex. Since then, his work has been discredited and rarely spoken of.

However, that hasn’t stopped the term or his beliefs from making their way into the media or the classroom. His views are why children are now encouraged to transition instead of undergoing treatment options like psychotherapy. Perhaps the left should dive deep into scientific research before advocating for child mutilation.
